Timed entry required 22 May to 12 October 2026: 9am-2pm park-wide, and 5am-6pm for the Bear Lake Road corridor, which needs its own permit. Trail Ridge Road runs roughly Memorial Day to mid-October. Nonresident fee park.

Avoid

Afternoon lightning above treeline is a daily July and August pattern; be off the tundra by noon.
